If you've ever had the pleasure of sampling the Trader Joe's Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies then you know how suspiciously delicious they are, especially with a tall glass of cold soy milk. But they are 100% free of animal products and have converted every nonbeliever I know.

I still have more people to meet with regarding this job, but with every interview I become more and more confident. I know your fingers are probably sore, but please keep them crossed! It's been working so far!
Oh boy Wednesday night easily crossed into Thursday morning and I didn't get home until 5:00am. Not The Government played with Band of Outsiders, along with a special performance by Galvanized. I think the piece was called "Beast" (Correct me if I'm wrong!) and it was a raw sensual solo dance to a live primal drumbeat and song. I'm not going to pretend I know enough about dance to write about it, but I really liked this piece, it skillfully conveyed the sometimes violent and heartbreaking passion of lovers.

Not The Government played a really energetic set, treating us all to their famous cover of "Communication Breakdown" by Led Zeppelin and even a freestyle dance party!

But the treats didn't end there. The evening culminated in an after party at the Bixel House, where Jay and Tyler revealed plans for a Not The Government hip hop album. You heard it here first!

Remember this nineties gem? (Sorry, embedding was disabled.) It broke the top forties my summer between sixth grade and seventh (There, now you can approximate how old I am). I remember hearing it in the car as my mom drove me to summer school. About to attend a new school in the fall, I had decided I was going to be a cool new kid and so educated myself watching music videos on VH1 all day (Music videos? On VH1?!).
I strangely found myself singing "Counting Blue Cars" by Dishwalla in the shower the other day - stranger still that I remember all the words - and immediately grabbed it off the internet to listen to on my Shuffle on my way over to USC on the Metro. Middle school flashback anyone?
I finally got to ride my bike yesterday. My plans from the previous post were scrapped in the name of supreme laziness, but yesterday I actually made it out. I helped a friend with some work and then we sat outside under a magical octopus tree, hazily nursing beers as the sun set. It felt spectacular to ride, though now my calves are aching from hauling the 'Hog up and down the Metro stairs, foregoing the elevator for a badass impression.
Hope to see you at Parking Lot Dance Club tonight!
