Friday music weekend

Yes! It's Friday!

This week felt like it was eons long, I can't believe I made it here alive!

So my birthday is January 11th and Yours Truly will be turning the tender age of twenty-four (I know, I'm a baby!). To celebrate I want to throw an awesome party here in Los Angeles, featuring my favorite local bands, DJs, and artists - in other words, the remarkable talents of my many wonderful friends.

My biggest obstacle is scoring a rad location. Once I've got that in place, then I can start building my party around it. So if you have or know of a place, I would urge you to email me!

You will find that this weekend is quite dance-heavy in honor of Special Disco Version on Saturday!: Voice On Tape, Youthless and the Eastern Pendulum, GANGI, the peculiar pretzelmen, EVANOMICS, SPIDER PROBLEM, Blue Jungle, MiCHAEL, MEGA WAND, and Super Mash Bros.

And this week my featured artist is Classic Us - a very simple mysterious entity who want to keep it that way. For all I know, they may not even be human, because their "Death Express" track (Check out their MySpace for it!) is otherworldly. Whatever planet they come from, it must be a shiny steam-beat ride through an eternal disco midnight. When I first stumbled upon them, I listened to "Express" for an hour on repeat. These guys are going to be everywhere very very soon.

They also want me to add that they've that their EP will be available starting February of '09 on Beatport through So French Records. They're also busy working on a full length album for a Winter '09 release - so stay tuned!
