Friday music weekend

I apologize for last night's absence. It was a very exhausting day - in more than one way.

I was feeling terribly.

Until I bought a pack of cigarettes, my first in months. Sitting on the curb in the sunshine, bundled up in hoodie and leather jacket, calmly dragging on an American Spirit, I instantly felt relieved.

I love smoking, but the inevitable debilitating sinus infection facilitates quitting. I was never bad to begin with, smoking at most a pack a week. I bum a stick here and there, and will buy a pack when things in my life get a little rough.

Like this week, when the holiday blues hit me like a slap in the face. It didn't help that it was raining and I was wearing canvas shoes.

That was Wednesday. Yesterday I bought my cigarettes. Today is Friday and I am back on my feet as I knew I would be.

Now if only they wouldn't take my Sparks away, I could be a happy gal. (Please don't take my Sparks away!)



Okay, so after you're done raiding Costco for every last case of orange kick, take some time out to check these tunes. I'm talking about So French's Fresh Lovers.

The neon synth beats of their "Beverly Hills Chase" sliced with silver sampled strings evokes an eighties police chase down a sparkling boulevard lined with palm trees glowing in an atomic sunset - a cocaine deal gone terribly terribly wrong.

It's the kind of track that makes you want to dance with your sunglasses on in the dark.
