And that's because New Year's swallowed up my week like a black hole of booze!
Next week I will have music for you again! Cross my heart and hope to die!
So New Year's? What about it? I have a very limited recollection of what might have happened.... Nono, stop panicking, Mom & Dad - I only say such things to increase my gonzo appeal. Maybe.
I rang in 2009 on a rooftop in downtown LA, after an amusing trip on the Metro and a minor bike ride, meeting up with Not The Government and scrambling to the roof with mere minutes to spare.
I could tell you about how I bounced back and forth between downtown and Echo Park, riding in pea soup fog without gloves thinking, "What the hell am I doing?, and received many compliments on my festively adorned bicycle. I could tell you about dancing in my friend's yet unfurnished apartment in West Hollywood and about how I watched with mixed feelings as a man already unsteady on his feet filmed a disabled man on his iPhone as the man without hands toyed with a Metro brochure on the floor of the car, rambling to himself in the midst of a heavy trip. I could tell you about how I got myself a nice dinner, ended up covered in dog fur, went to bed at 5:00 in the morning only to wake at 9:00am, and then about how I rode to Korea Town for my first startling experience of authentic Korean barbecue (I meant to take a photo of the fried whole fish - eyeballs, organs, bones, and everything - but in my subhuman form I could barely form whole thoughts nor stomach the sight of the dish). And oh! I could tell you about the most exciting event: falling awkwardly on my extended shoulder cause I didn't see a step up and totally eating it mere minutes after it turned 2009 - it hurt sort of badly until recently...
But, I will let the photos (Or lack thereof) speak for themselves.
So I am sort of hoping to make Shits & Giggles happen tonight, but we'll see. If it happens, great, if it doesn't happen, that's great too. My car is broken so I can't drive anywhere!

By the way, if by the sweet chance you are considering a birthday gift, all I want is one of these:

(Any color will do! You only have eight days left!)
