Saturday surprise!: Birthday party & birthday mix from Rawky Zano!

Oh my goodness! Critical Mass last night was so much fun - one of the best rides I've been on so far! After the Mass disbanded, a few of us raced over to Hollywood to meet up with another ride. We met up at Hollywood and Highland, where the ride was cycloning in the intersection, with one very confused driver stuck in the middle of a churning mass of cyclists, riders in the center hauling their bikes over their heads like tribal warriors. We sang our war cry and then busted west on Hollywood.

Screaming down Hollywood Blvd, cat calling at glossy guys and gals stuck in lines for glossy clubs, howling at proper adults dressed in proper coats getting out of a show at the Pantages, and weaving in and out of the Friday night traffic felt like such a blissful rejection of a society that seems to want too much of the things that don't matter. I want a nice place to live, clothes that keep me warm, greasy brunch on hungover Sundays, friendship, a sketchbook, good music, a good screw, a good strong drink, a good time, and maybe a new bike constructed to my specifications.

Maybe that's because I am a tender twenty-four and I've been fairly blessed as far as my fortune goes. I'm content with the cheaper version of everything I want because honestly, everything just turns into garbage in the end. Friendships never depreciate and they never go out of style. A heart full of love is a treasure. I am the richest girl in the world because I have you, and you, and you.

If you don't know what the biggest party in town is tonight, then I really don't know where you've been, because duh, it's my BIRTHDAY PARTY!

After talking about and planning this for a month, my birthday party is finally here! This is my first attempt at hosting a show, so I am incredibly nervous! So nervous I could puke! But I won't because that's gross.

My wonderful beautiful friend Rawky Zano was on the original bill, but girlfriend landed herself a DJ gig in Las Vegas! I think that a tremendous congratulations are in order! Unfortunately, since they already have her hustling in the city that never sleeps (Or stops drinking!), she can't make it out tonight!

So she made me a birthday mix to pre-party to! Can you believe it? My very own mix! I feel so honored and so loved!

The mix is like one whole party night condensed into twenty-four minutes, from pre-party, to sweaty dance floor, to mellow yellow on your best friend's couch.
