That's because I'm too busy planning/being nervous/excited about my sixty mile training ride tomorrow. It will be the longest I have ever gone all in one go. If I can do forty miles and be all right, what's twenty more miles? (Famous last words!)
Route is laid out so I can bail easily, but I don't expect to do so. I've proven to myself time and time again that I am in better shape than I suspect.
I think I would like to have the bicycle serviced before the ride. I've owned Lola for only about two months and already I've put 500 miles on her.
Who knew?
Hopefully next year I'll be preparing to ride to San Francisco....
This is my determined face!

Glad it went well!
Once you've done 60, a century is just more of a time investment.
Can't imagine doing it without socks though.

Maybe after eighty miles sans socks I might change my mind...but I doubt it.
I have tough feet. I was never once uncomfortable riding without socks during my sixty miles.
And when I finally do go clipless (Hah!), imagine all the places I'll go! (Without socks!)
