All right, so here's the status of things:
I am optimistically looking for work because I lost my job. Well, "lost" implies that I would like to find it again, and I don't really, rather, I suppose, I let it free like a dove. This is all very pretty imagery, but the serious truth is that I might have enough to keep me aloft in Los Angeles for the next three months. No matter, I am going to have a new job by October, that's the promise that I've made to myself, and yet I am quite aware of the fact that "life is what happens while you are busy making other plans," which could range anywhere from running away to Portland to live in Bicycle Heaven, moving back home with my parents, or returning to school. So...if you hear of anything, please let me know! I would greatly appreciate it.
Aside from that minor problem, you might say that things are going...well? I feel ready to receive new opportunities, explore avenues that remain unmapped, and confront all obstacles with an almost heartbreaking optimism. I'm ready to draw my strength inward and focus my positive energy, because even though "luck is for rabbits," I've heard that she favors the prepared rabbits, so maybe I'll be quick enough to avoid the coyote, and maybe I will just get lucky. Either way, I'm here! So come and get me Fate!
There's a bicycle race to enter (And perform moderately well in once I get my combination clipless/flat pedals), a love interest, a villain, and our charming heroine played by Yours Truly, who is going to overcome some serious darkness with the power of true love. Along her journey, she will learn adaptability, resourcefulness, and an almost humorous frugality as her determination and resolution are challenged.
I've been here before and I've come out granted amazing boons.
Stay tuned...the adventure is only just beginning.
