Monday: High School Lessons

Well, I had decided to be good, but then I decided to be bad...but I guess I am ultimately deciding to be good.

Today I learned some very important lessons. Among them, I learned this: Adding a slice of lemon (Or a sprig of mint or a chunk of ginger) to anything instantly improves it. Today I had a Coca-Cola with a slice of lemon. I took the trouble to pour it into a glass and add ice. So much more satisfying!

It makes even a glass of water an event.

I also learned that when it comes to three day sinus headaches, "Wal-profen" Cold & Sinus will do the trick (Add one special glass of Coca-Cola and a Twix and a Kit-Kat bar for maximum effect).

I finally bought a new planner. It is a planner combination sketchbook - all blank pages, acres and acres of real estate. I love the sensation of a pen against paper. I decided to give it a personal touch, but to be honest, this happened by mistake (I didn't mean to put the bag Trader Joe's side out).

I know this is totally cheeeesy, but on Friday night they convinced me to go see Paranormal Activity at the dreaded Grove shopping center. I actually...had a genuinely good time. That movie, however, is not worth thirteen dollars, considering it was probably made for ten. But! There was a moment when we were listening to the song below and driving around in the car. I was seated at the window, and while everyone was engaged in happy conversation, I was watching some of my favorite streets roll by (Melrose, Fairfax, Beverly!). The chilled night air shoved my breath back in my throat, it was like I was choking. But I was so lovely I didn't know it. Yeah, it sort of felt like high school...but - admit it - sometimes you genuinely miss high school.
