Friday: Happy Valentine's Day!

Even when I was single, I never understood the anti-Valentine's sentiment. Sure, it's an entirely corporate holiday - perhaps inspired by a martyred Roman saint and later co-opted by an entrepreneurial woman named Esther Howland who sold handmade cards from her home pre-Etsy - but I never perceived it as the affront to loneliness that many seem to. Admittedly, this year, I am excited for this weekend's plans, which include both conventional and very unconventional methods of celebration, but if I had no one's hand to hold, I suppose I would simply ignore it.

But we didn't ignore it last weekend. Instead, we broke it! At Heart On's Heartbreak Valentine's....







If you listen to Ben Oprstu's latest track, you're certain to start dancing. And if you're dancing, that's almost like having sex.

And if that doesn't work, then save your pennies, cause next weekend Gender Justice LA is throwing a fundraiser party...and not only will Yours Truly be present, but it's a tremendously great cause, and there's no better way to give Valentine's the middle finger than to donate your money to justice rather than throw it at a greeting card company. I'm just sayin'!
