FYI The Coffee Bean on Melrose at Gardner does not have WiFi. I discovered this only after paying $2.35 for my coffee. I might have to cave and have internet installed at home. And I had been feeling so hardcore....
Last night we went to Not The Government at the Cafe Mariposa in Echo Park. We bought these little red cans of "effervescent" white wine at House of Spirits. We thought it would be funny because the cans are equipped with straws. The stuff was atrocious...and I'll drink anything.

The boys put on a really sick show - alter egos, broken instruments, moshing, flying....

I didn't actually take that many pictures, but I did talk to a lot of people. When you're holding a camera everyone wants to be your friend. It's okay - I don't like people who don't like having their pictures taken. Echo Park is a happening place and things are happening for me there.
One of the highlights of the evening was my recently modified Space Camp shirt. My shirt, unlike most cheeky hipster t-shirts, is the genuine article - I actually went to Space Camp when I was twelve years old. No irony here, no sir, I was going to be an astronaut.

I've been receiving so many compliments on my hair. Described as "half Mohawk, half pompadour," everyone seems to like it. I feel like I am now part of the women's short hair cut club. I need to have it trimmed soon. I've never had a cool haircut before.
I think I've made my decision to stay in Los Angeles.
I'm terrified of what that means for me and the ex(?)-boyfriend...my crippling codependency compels me to follow him. But things are happening for me here. I would be foolish to leave.
I made my decision while driving up La Brea from my friend's place downtown and I came across this:

I flipped a fast one to grab the shot. Today is the day I start keeping a camera on me at all times.
