New Year's Eve is one of my favorite holidays, and it probably has to do with my penchant for (Cheap) champagne.
I'm feeling much better than I did last night, although still mildly heartbroken over the fact that my Darling One will not be in town to grant me my midnight kiss! Fortunately, however, I have many wonderful friends with whom to celebrate, and though our plans have not yet solidified, I know I will have fun. I just need to think of an outfit!
But first, I must get some work out of the way. Included in that to do list is to wish you a very happy & very safe New Year's Eve!
If you're in Los Angeles tonight, please take advantage of the Metro's twenty-four hour service. I certainly did last year and it was so much fun riding the train with fellow revelers. And if you do go a little overboard and you're stranded with your car, AAA is offering its Tipsy Tow service to everyone.
Or just take a cab! It's cheaper than a DUI and the streets are going to be crawling with cops tonight - don't even risk it!

Good advice on the DUI thing. After you add up all the costs associated with a first-time DUI you are looking at $10,000.00 or more. That is for a first-time DUI. For a second and third DUI you are looking at increasingly stiffer penalties. I've been dealing with DUI cases since 1984 (probably before most of your readers were born) and I can write that the odds are severely stacked against drivers who are DUI. Incidentally, it does not take all that much booze to get a person (any person) at the "under the influence" mark and it takes just a tad more booze to get a person at an 0.08 or higher. I agree with you Lizzie, it ain't worth it to drink and drive. BTW Lizzie, have yourself a safe, sane, prosperous and enlightened New Year. Namaste...
