Just kidding!
Friday night I stayed in and slept for twelve hours. Which really does wonders for your brains and your looks.
For my birthday a friend gave me cookies with the sunshine baked right into them. They're neatly packaged in pairs, so on Saturday, I ate two, since it seemed like a logical dosage. I ended up way in over my head (In more ways than one), and delightfully useless for the rest of the day. I tried to watch a movie, but fell asleep. I woke up in time to ride out for C.R.A.N.K. Mob, which was the highlight of my weekend.
One hundred plus bicycles met up west of the 405 Freeway. I'd never ridden a Mob, but I'd always heard fabulous stories of dress up, drinking, and debauchery. I had no idea it occurred on the west side either, but I'm glad it's on my side of town because it was quite possibly one of the most fun things I've ever done.
Our fearless leader was a man in shiny purple leggings, towing a gloriously battery rigged stereo system blasting music Yours Truly would have gladly danced to had she not been riding the sunshine kite. Riding over to the meet up was farther than any of the legs of the ride, which were just means to a party end. We'd stop in a parking lot, dance, and then leave as soon as the cops showed up (They even brought out a helicopter to help show the way). Witnessed one nasty spill (The bike went airborne), many forms of lamè, and a whole range of folks, from older gentlemen decked out in reflective vests to tiny hipster girls, and one fellow was even carting around a tree. And many many beautiful bicycles.
It has became clear to me that my gold lamè leggings (Which are not even from American Apparel! They're from Target!) have found a new monthly outlet!
After approximately twenty-seven miles round trip from my house, I'm hooked on the Mob, and eagerly awaiting the next one.

And these...these are just experiments in expressions of light.

This week is going to be a crazy one!
